I've come back to this place many times: the location is excellent and the historic centre of Massa Marittima is worth it every time. The room is spacious, the bed comfortable, and the building has a very distinctive character.
Casa Aurora is a convenient starting point for the Maremma and beyond. The medieval village of Populonia, the gulf of Baratti and Cala Violina are a short drive away; the ferry to the Island of Elba can be reached in about an hour.
A little further afield, Siena, San Gimignano and the abbey of San Galgano — all within a day's reach.
